The Performers (band)
The Performers were a Canadian doo-wop group, formed around Jay Dee after the breakup of The Sparrows.〔Encyclopedia of Rhythm & Blues and Doo-Wop Vocal Groups "Mitch Rosalsky - 2002 "This group formed in 1956 as a result of the breakup of the Sparrows on Jay Dee. Hayward and Washington had been with the Sparrows and tried harmonizing after the breakup by starting the Performers. .. How it occurred is not understood, but somehow the Performers got a recording contract with All-Star Records and recorded "I'll Make You Understand" in August 1956. This was led by Freddie with great bass work by Rocky. "Give Me Your Heart" was by Hayward.
